International Garden
WE ARE BUILDING THIS GARDEN TO:
• show Burnside Primary School as one, made up of many nations.
• welcome people from other countries to Burnside Primary.
• learn about the plants that represent, the different nationalities in our school.
• make our school a beautiful environment for all living things (including us).
We have also included a Maori plant section because from the time they first arrived in Aotearoa / New Zealand the Maori people depended on native plants for the necessities of life – food, firewood, shelter, clothing and medicine.

KORU
This koru is just beginning to open which represents the beginning of life and education from a child’s perspective.
