In Room 2 we have been learning about shapes. We have investigated the properties of circles, rectangles, squares, ovals, semi-circles, pentagons and hexagons. We now know how many sides and corners each shape has got!
We also used shapes to make pictures. Come in and see them!
We know that there are shapes all around us and we looked for them in our classroom.
Can you work out which shape we couldn’t find?
We have been exploring the changes that happen in Spring. We went for a ‘Spring’ walk and saw blossom, daffodils, buds and birds. We have been watching the buds opening in the international garden. They’re almost out!
To help the new plants grow we have collected our food scraps and stored them in a Bokashi bin. Once we had enough Miss Clarke dug a hole and we put the food scraps in. We then covered them up with the soil.
We are going to dig in the same place in three weeks and see what has happened. We think the worms are going to come and eat them up!
We have been learning to tell the time. We can now read and write o’clock and half past times. We made our own clocks so we could make different times. This was quite tricky!
We played time games, which we really enjoyed, especially the board game!
We can also say our days of the week and months of the year in order.
