In recent weeks Room 5 children have been learning about about wool and how to knit!

In these pictures Suzanne Baldwin showed the children how to spin the wool and how to use the "nilly noddy" to wind the wool into hanks ready for washing.

Here are the children working very hard to master the art of knitting. They all had to concentrate very hard to make their peggy square.

At the end of last term our school held Book Week.

In Room 5 we studied the author Roald Dahl.  We discussed his books, learned about his life and found out how he got his ideas for writing his wonderful children's books.

On Friday we all dressed up as our favourite book
character.  Don't we all look great!!!

Room 5 children are using Media Blender on the laptops
to design our special "taongas". When we are happy
with our designs we will be painting them on our piece

Room 5 children have been studying "growing things". They have grown wheat men and sunflowers.
They listened to the story "Camille" and then pretended they were budding van Gogh's and painted their own sunflowers.  Here they are very busy creating their masterpieces.
